I'm running external drivers on a 144 zx 2 suspension. on a 2008 apex. all bearings are good. track alignment good. makes a lot of noise and vibration at low speed. And the drive shaft is straight and true. is this normal.

They can from hitting the clips and you will fell them more. But if you are running your track loose it could be the track hitting the tunnel from bowing.

A lot of guys mention vibration until their new drivers are broken in for a couple hundred miles. That was the reason the Doo Drivers were/are so popular. They're relieved in the area where the track clips hit from the factory so they don't do that.
In addition to the stuff you've already checked, if the drivers are centered on the track windows, and the track is centered within the tunnel, I'd say run it...

I was worried going from the Doo drivers to the Avids about the noise and I can't tell any difference so I am happy.

Wahl Bros Drivers
I installed Wahl Bros drivers after Kevin at Port Washington Yamaha recommended them.
They were a hard install but I actually think they vibrate less then the stock ones did. After 200-400 miles they got considerably better.
Break in will definitely matter.

not all tracks are finished off correctly. I have had a track that was lugged straight but was holed a little off. this made the clips on one side, a little further ahead of the lug. On an internal this is not a problem, the driver will wear in(i ground my clips even with lug) but on extrovers, you need the clips exacly perpendicular to the center line of the track or you will be driving off one side more than the other. It will also be driving off either, only the clip or only the lug.
I made sure this track was clipped correctly but have seen many that are not. Also, if your drivers are even 1/8 off, your going to be rubbing one side or the other causing drag or a rumble.
maybe some of these will help find the noise.
Apex/rx1 sleds are very loud at certain speeds. I have changed, track, suspension, gears and drivers to different than stock, even my tunnel, nothing has changed the drone noise.
