With Yamaha and Mr. Sled asking for feedback on color schemes and graphics for the new sleds, I feel one question is missing. I feel like helping so here it is.
Whatever color scheme and graphics package you prefer, would you rather have painted body panels (hood and tank areas) or colored plastic like MX bikes and ATVs?

I like painted panels better. They look better. Not a fan of the tupperware look of colored plastic. I'm sure it's cheaper to manufacture, but give me painted panels.
Absolutley. Ive painted the panels on all of my last 3 sleds and it is night and day better.

I think painted is the way to go. The nytros are colored plastic not paint and it still looks good yet but if its like the bikes i've ovned it will fade bad after a couple years.

Most sled hoods now are painted and don't chip off.
(When I first read the poll question, I thought they meant the Lower body panels, which I would much rather be colored in the plastic due to scratching, chipping tec.)
Would MUCH rather have the upper plastics painted, paint gives a much deeper appearing finish.

My Nytro looks just as good as the day it was painted in October of 07.
My Apex/Attak has been on 143° asphalt in summer, -30° in winter, and boondocking thru some rough stuff and has a couple of scuffs from stumps and a rock I hit under the snow. The Attak was painted in August of 05. Took 1st in it's class at a car show last fall so it must look pretty good yet.

yeah....I wish I got white...the blue starting to look crapy....even my firecat had painted hood
Painted panels or plastic parts always looks better plus you can design what you want for a color scheme.

When Yamaha does paint their panels, they seem to be a higher quality paint than Polaris uses. Polaris paint jobs seem to be really get the swirl marks really easily. Not sure but I think Ski-Doo and AC use colored plastic on their sleds?
