WONDERING IF AN 04/05 CDI WILL WORK IN AN 03 RX1? PART NUMBERS ARE DIFF. BUT IT WOULD SOLVE THE WARMER PROBLEM WITH AUTO TURN ON HIGH I WOULD THINK.....IF IT WILL WORK IN THE SLED. ANYONE KNOW????

I have read this posting and really dont care to get that involved in the electronics to make them work in that way. Seems as though this is quite complicated and will need to be messed with each time you want to use them??? Not quite sure if I understand if not. If i can just put a new CDI in and spend the extra $$ it seems more worth it to me not to have any involvement in soldering, adding, wiring etc. no offense. By the way sorry for the caps. just a habbit. thanks for the response however.

I'm looking for someone to confirm that a CDI from an 04 - 05 RX1 will fit my 03. I would also like to correct the hand warmer memory issue and I also think my CDI is acting up so now is the time to install the upgraded one if it'll work.

I think Familyman has 2 cdis out of 05 warriors still. Maybe you could get one and try it. If it works I'm sure he'd work out a deal with you.

Yes an 04-05 ecu is plug and play on an 03.

would that make it so you dont have to adjust your warmers ever time you start the sled? if so whats that cdi box gonna run me? pm the price please. Is there a better way. seems like a pita to adjust every start up.

I couldn't justify the cost of a newer ECU. I just switched the connectors under the handlebar pad so the left side switch now controls the thumb warmer. My big complaint was that the thumb warmer got so hot it burned. I couldn't turn it down while under throttle without taking my thumb off the flipper. I hated the way the engine braking slowed the sled down and would worry about getting rear ended. I find that the grip warmers don't heat up as fast or get uncomfortably hot so I can wait until a convenient time to turn them down. Problem solved for me.
