I really liked the sled but just seemed to be lacking the power and speed I thought I would get. Just couldn't bring myself to pay the cash for a turbo to void my warranty. I went to the dealer today to order the mtx turbo only to find out its not offered at our elevation without voiding warranty. Guess ill be switching to the cat turbo. Hope yamaha brings a factory turbo out soon that will not void warranty, I would then be the first in line.

What I am telling you is true, I have a 2014 M8 153 and a Viper XTX converted to an MTX. Stock the M8 bblows Viper away, after Viper clutch fix they run even up to 50mph. Don't get me wrong I really like the M8, but I am in negotiations to trade it in on a 2015 Viper with turbo.

Two stokes smell :moon:

I have not made it any farther west then Lead South Dakota, but would like to next year. I will be in the market for a paddle track, otherwise I watch videos and the mtn viper with turbo is powering over two strokes. Just my take on it all.

Odd you say that, I will be very near Lead South Dakota tomorrow to ride the 2015 Yamaha demo. Its actually at a lodge called Trailshead Lodge west of Lead. And yeah, A Viper with a 153 Powerclaw track is incredible in the powder snow.

I have been in WY twice, once in Togwotee and once in the Big Horns, and it's awesome! In Togwotee I had a M8 and it was pretty good, two guys had turbo Nytro's and they blew the M8 away! And so did a clutched and piped RMK. But it was so fun!! Can't even explain it!!

In the Big Horns I had my XTX Nytro. That was fun as well, but nowhere as fun as Togwotee! But with the Nytro and my wife's Vector the Big Horns was perfect! Cause all we had were 1.25 lug tracks. But with only 3-4 feet of snow it was perfect snow conditions for us flat landers!! We could go anywhere!! :-o

I would rather take my chance on a Viper with a turbo and no warranty then a 1100 turdblow any day of the week! With what you'll spend in replacement belts you could pay to fix any non warranty covered failures.

Are the 2015 factory turbo mtx going to have a conversion kit for lower elevations? My dealer is telling me that the factory turbo isn't even offered in my part of Canada. They told me as soon as I put a turbo on my sled it voids every thing even if its non turbo related. I thought this was bs so called three other local dealers all stating the same thing. I loved the sled just want more power.

That's not true!! Can't void any warranty, unless they can prove that the turbo caused the problem, for instance if you had a cracked oil pan, that not going to affect your warranty and they will fix it under warranty!

That dealer lied to you ;):D
