I have been religious about wearing the tether for my OFT roll over valve. But after filling my sled just a block from the cabin I clipped the tether to the bars for the short ride back. I'll skip some stupidity and tell you that my sled ended up downside up still running.

So now since I have Ulmers K&N intake the filter at the end of my oil tank vent line is saturated with engine oil. I have to assume that air flow thru that filter is reduced, to what degree I do not know but the filter is now brown instead of purple.

Now tomorrow I have a ride planned and I won't be able to clean the filter before then. Can anyone offer some insight into what problem might arise with the air flow reduced into the oil tank? Am I looking at a loss of oil flow? It ran fine on the way home no warning lights. Oil level is where it was before it flipped.

USE YOUR TETHER IF YOU GOT THEM BOYS!

I would like to see the video evidence of that upside down stunt! :tg:

PS: Can you wash it or blow it out?

That's the other part. I have a Go Pro HD and didn't have that on either. My preference is to capture as much stupidity on camera as I can but I'm afraid this was wasted stupidity.

Yeah I think blowing it out then using the K&N cleaning kit on it is a good option however that will have to wait till I get home. Limited time and resources before tomorrows ride. I'm trying to decide between riding it how it is or taking the filter off and zip tying a ajax cloth over the vent tube.

Could you rinse it out with some gasoline? I don't know much about these K&N filters, but I've done it with foam filters plenty of times, Soak it in gas, ring it out, shake it, blow it, and let it dry.

If the filter is caged and you can't get it out of the "cage" or whatever you want to call it, you could dump gas over it and just swing it around until its dry.

Just throwing some ideas out there. Gas cleans just about anything lol

Thanks for the thoughts man.

I will be cleaning it when I get back for sure. I'm just trying to figure out what I am going to do for tomorrow. I have no time to clean it nor do I have any resources with me. Just my Nytro tool kit really.

Warm soapy water to wash it out and then rinse it thoroughly, then dry it THOROUGHLY so that there is no moisture in it and it can't freeze.

Thanks Allan I'll get her done when I get back.

I've had my sled upside down a few times and I don't even worry about it. It'll be fine.

Thanks dude.

I'll be wearing my tether all the time now.

The only victim of the incident......
