02 had the problem too...04 and up and good but if you put big tires on you will most like snap and axel sooner or later...they just are not made for that...

So if I run an 02 with the right size tires I shouldnt have much of a problem?
I probly ride like an old man compared to others my age
Dont care for jumping riding fast etc
Dont see how I could loose an axle the way I drive
But I only weigh 160 and I'm sure some of you guys wiegh more and if you weigh more dont you have a bigger chance of breaking an axle if you jump it??
No Offense![Div20 ;)! ;)!](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/div20.gif)

I havent seen any problems unless you are running it extremely hard in the mud pits...and even that it will take the tires for the most part to break the axels.

Doesn't really matter what year you get, you push those stock axles to hard they will snap. But yea 03's had most of the problems, they did a designh change from 02 to 03, the actual thickness of the axles on the 03 were less then the 02's. Fixed it in 04.
02's are known for there vapor locking since the first set of product 02's didn't get the heatshield under the gas tank. Mines a late 02 and it was fatory installed.
I run 27x12x12 MudLites all around on my grizzly and dont baby it one bit, and I've never had one problem with mine EVER!! I mud, river, and hill climb mine, nothing broke yet. Just turned over 2000 miles on mine.
I just recommend staying away from the 03's, they are not all bad but you never will know you got a lemon till you buy it!![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)

iowagrizz, Actually you have that backwards, the 03 axles are a larger diameter than the 02, 04, 05 axles. If you have to replace one on the 03 you will get the smaller diameter axle.
