Dont take this the wrong way............

I also have a friend with a rev800ho, from a standing start, he could pull about 4 lengths out of the hole, and I would catch him in a little under 1/4 mile. This was because he was studded and I wasn't. From a rolling start, he might as well have been running on foot. The skidoo midrange SUCKS. His top end was pretty decent, within about 5 or 6 mph under mine.

Hi LB it seems that at least in 04 the 800 ho rev was all over the place in performance, but at least the one my little buddy got his sticky litle paws on was unbelievable in the midrange all the way up to 114 gps on ice,my sled would only top end him by 2 mph same day we raced, but when we would line up,cause of our weight difference he smokes me every time in the midrange,ya i get him on hole shot, but he waves on his way by...

That was the same way my 03 800 ran. It just blew by the 05 RX-1 midrange all the way to the top. He could only pass me when I was past 100 mph. So, that's why I'm saying that if the new GT performs the way everyone says it does or it least as good as my 800, then I will be happy. Only time will tell. By the way the guy I raced was the same weight as me, 160lbs.

Were you both studded? Studded to studded machine I have yet to find a 800 class that can challenge my 05.

Without studs on my 04 I couldn't hook at all and I'd invariably lose the hole shot to a lighter machine. Would start to pass them at the 1/4 mile mark. Or if it was a 600 class at about 70 I'd reel them in and pass easily.

With studs you really have to tone the weight transfer down on the 05's. In real good hardpack I could stand it up on it's end. After going studs I will never go back. This machine rips with studs. And for a shorty all you need is 96 studs down the middle.
