Good thread - does not surprise me though - SRX's will run with and beat the Mach's until you hit the century mark - sounds like the Apex's are going to run real close with the SRX's which is what we been waiting for from the 4 strokes - what is cool is that there is alot more power to be had from this motor right from the factory - don't be surprised if this sled ends up being offered in a 170 hp +or- in the next few years! - YAMAHA = AWESOME!

Don't worry fella's I already had my first run in with the Mach Z and it was pretty. 14 mile stretch seasonal road groomed the night before hard pack with frozen base. I am still in break in just about 400 miles on the odometer at the time. Stock carbides that still push a bit in the sweeping turns. He left me go 1st and in the end I was close to 2 mins. at the end of the trail when he pulled up. I am going to reserve judgement though he was about my age 43 at least 30 lbs heavier and I did notice his skills were a bit limited when I caught him from behind on the first run. I was seeing speeds at 111 and still had trigger to pull but am reserving that till I pass the 500 miles and change the oil and filter.

Polarbear was talking about me on DooTalk. I did run 111 on GPS to his 109 with the Mach. Didn't mention the 40 pounds of tools and crap that I was hauling. I have to give him some credit though for he out weighs me by a few pounds. His mach is awesome, but I like my GT.

It is the truth, the Apex is among the top performers, not bad for the "it cant be done on a 4 stroke" just 36 months ago

That was 111 mph on GPS. Dreamometer said 128 at 10,200 rpm. Only 100 miles on her. Thanks Allen.

Is your GT totally stock? Have you made any adjustments to your transfer, limiter strap or shock settings.

Ulmer Racing Stage 2 clutch kit. Took care of all of my clutching concerns. Very smooth. Pulls like crazy. Before this, the engine braking would throw me over the hood if I were standing up. 144 studs. Everything else set up for the trail. I know there is more top end in it if I were to really try.

I think its funny.. one guy actually complains about the guys making the Mach have a bad name and suggests modding the sled to beat the Apex..


In box stock form the Mach should kill the apex.. TOO BAD IT DOESNT... LOL

Yea that is the same guy who claimed his mach would beat a turbo rx-1 last year. I would think his word holds no water and even less truth.
