Any word from ISR, on what class the new Nytro would be racing in yet? I've been thinking about ordering a new Nytro MTX and using it for drag racing and also as my main riding sled. ( like I do now, with my Viper).
Depending on what class they put it in, seems like it would be very competitive!
I posted this in the MTX section, because out west we race moutain sleds!

The ISR drag racing rules meeting isn't until April 14. There will be a ruling after that date.

I heard there trying to put them in 600 single pipe class

I really think this is where it will end up....from one quick ride it's very quick!!! Not sure if it's Apex quick....but it's quick. This will be very interesting. I hope there's room for both sleds.

Makes sense to put it in that class. Horsepower to weight ratio is about right for the 600 single.
The Nytro motor is a little stronger then the brand X 600's, with the FX Nytro being a little heavier then the 600 F-cats, Rev's, Etc. I would think the Nytro would be very competitive, should be a good race!

hmmmmm... now who will win.....

apex? nytro? holy yamahas batman....

Yes, I would assume Yamaha will aim this sled at being in the 600cc single pipe class. In the miles I have put on against our 2007 Apex RTX I'm willing to bet in a 500' race the sleds will be close.

Stock for stock that's probably true but once the Apex has equal gearing...it may not....MAY not...

Yep and 500' on grass is once again a way different story than snow! If Yamaha wants to win in the 600 single pipe class on the grass, it will need to be as fast as the Apex because certain Ski Doo 600's were flying last season and now they're even lighter!

With this xp 600, I think the power to weight shoud go the other way with the ski-doo. Make it run in the 700cc. class. to be fair. :jump:
That wouldn't make sense for a 600 to run in a 700 class the other manufacture have the option to drop weight.
Rumor has it ski doo will be racing the non ho 600 motor (105hp) in the 600 class.
