What is the best setup for drag racing? i guess a loose limiter and setting the transfer rod up for more weight on the track would be ideal correct? Front shock psi make a difference? I noticed alot of track spin off the start. I have 144 studs on ripsaw. Rumble pack exhaust, other then that it's a stock 06 RTX. I got beat on 2 occasions by 04' 800 revs even at the top. We went about a 1/2 mile. Not impressed. Anyone know the gearing on the 06 RTX? and shouldn't i be eating an 04 rev for dinner. The conditions were 2 inches of hard snow on nice.

you must have a slow APEX...........
gear down 1 tooth on top,you will have better low end and will still have the same top end, what were the snow conditions? the ripsaw is only good on hardpack

Put the limiter strap in the stock position. Set the transfer rod to max. Change the gearing to 22/38 or 23/40. You should be running 168 studs for drag racing, which includes the outside belt. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO DO WITGH THE STOCK TRACK. MAKE SURE YOUR STUDS ARE 1.450 WOODY'S MEGABYTES. 1.325 or other brands 1.375 are just not long enough and you will spin ALOT. Make sure you Full synthetic oil. 0-20 or 0-30. Try that out and see how you do. If you need more help, we can talk clutching. There is no use doing that until you have traction. Let me know how you make out...

That and the studs is the key.... The length of the studs for sure..

With 22/38 you need a 68 link chain. if you want to keep the stock chain your better to buy both gear(23/40)!

So would buying the 2 gears (23/40) end up being less expensive then the top gear (22/38) with a chain?

No, I believe the chain and gear is cheaper, since the the Reverse bottom gear is expensive and the bearing is extra. This is only true if you have reverse? Do a search in the classified, I believe there was somone selling that combo. I'm not sure if it's still available.
