Drag'n our mountian RX-1 Turbo's

Snow Fever said:
Well we went to a local drag race this past sunday, the elevation was 3000' temp. was 0 in the morning and went to 13c by the afternoon. Track was very smooth but the snow was rotten so it was like taking off on sugar. There was 4 RX-1 Turbos in our group. 1 MC-Xpress front mount, 2 MC-Xpress rear mounts and mine the Junk Yard Dog. The other 3 guys entered the short track classes (Mod 800, Mod 1000 and Open Mod) Then all 4 of us entered the Mountain Mod 800, Mountain Mod 1000 and the Open Mod Mountain classes. My dealer P.G. Yamaha who is the MC-Xpress dealer for Canada (250-562-4151) had the front MC Turbo, Gary was riding it with a 159x2"x16 wide Doo track, Don his partner with a 151x2"x15 finger track and rear MC Turbo, Mike a buddy with a 159x2"x16" Doo track and a rear MC Turbo and myself 159x2"x15 challenger with the my own designed Turbo kit. The day was shaping up good untill they let everyone do a test run just before the races. After we made our test run some of the guys in our classes backed out and took their names off the roster? I guess they didn't like what they saw when we did our test runs :4STroke: It was pretty informal racing, they just had a flag man for the start, and 2 flag men at the finish to call the winners. (I know pretty lame compared to you guys back East) Anyways a couple of brave souls stayed to race with us in the above classes. The best of the Power Saws was a 1010 Mountain Cat with some trick parts on it and a finger track. I can't remeber who all won what classes out of our group (the orders that is but we took ALL the trophies. Sucks getting old and the mind goes). My dealer is going to call me with who won what class and 2nd and 3rd and I will post it on here. Anyways Gary's front Mc on got beat once by Mikes rear MC so I'd say he did the most spanking. Mike got one 1st several 2nds and some 3rds, Don rear MC got several seconds and some 3rds. I personally did get to put one MC rear Turbo on the trailer in the 800 Mountain Mod class and I got to put the other rear MC Turbo on the trailer in the Open Mountain Mod class. Finish 3rd in both those classes being beat out by 1 front mount MC and 1 rear mount MC Turbo both classes. Bottom line, I got beat, but I did get to play which is better then watching. Like I said the snow was rotten and we were digging pretty good trenches getting out of the hole and they didn't have any timming for the E.T.s but the local Police were radaring us. Gary's front Mc was the fastest at 160kph which works out to 99.41mph mine was 154kph which works out to 95.69mph the 2 rear mounts were somewhere between mine and Gary's most runs. This was in 660'. Oh yea that 1010 Cat I mentioned earlier, well God Damn did that thing hole shot me, 4-5 sled lengths! but I had him by 5-6 sled lengths by the finish line. I was $hitt'n when I seen him crank me outa the hole, but it was short lived. I'm going to send RX-warrior a picture and see if he can put it on here for me, I can't make it small enough to fit for some reason. In the picture the little guy on the right is Don's son he joined in the fun with us but his sled was too small for the class he was in. The girl on the left is Gary's daughter, she put lots of boys on the trailer with her Viper and got a couple trophys as well. We all had a great time, there was lots of ribbing going on in the pits and I tried to sike out the boyz on the MC-turbos but it never worked. Anybody want a home made turbo kit? I sure would like one of those rear MC kits for next year!

Fever you must be smokin crack!! All RX-1's are heavy pieces of #$%&* Putting a turbo on it only makes it heavier and therefore more of a pig!! :D :D

...is what the cat team said before the races :D :4STroke:

;)

O.K. I'll come clean, we got beat by good running 600s. but we did win these trophies in the 440 fan cool class :drink: I knew you'd find holes in my story Spray25, I just hoped you wouldn't call me on it :( Hey man you still riding? I just put mine away this past Sunday and dug out the bikes. August will be here before ya know it and it will be time to start super tuning again. Really starting to think seriously about sporting one of them new 162x16"x2.25" Doo Tracks for the up coming slaughter (I mean season) I'm thinking it might just have enough grunt to spool one of those bad boys up. What ya think?

If you like switching your track around all the time from hill climb to powder postion, then while in hill climb position not having any brakes coming down hill, then yes,buy a cat 162.I can't wait to check out polaris's 166x2 1/4 myself.

Ken, not the Cat track, its crap! I want the new Ski-Doo 162"x16" wide and it has 2.25" lugs and the pitch is 2.52 same as regular tracks not like the Cat at 3" pitch. The Ski-Doo track is the same as the 15" challenger in design but wider and slightly taller. I have a Cat kill switch tether on my sled and thats all the Cat parts I want. (Used the Cat tether because it is better quality then the after market ones and it breaks the circuit when you pull it which is the opposite of other sleds with tethers) My dealer puts on the after market tethers and they crap out after awhile. I don't mind using parts from other machines. Hey if they work they work!
