My 2006 Apex RTX make a big BAM when I hit the gas after locking up the track with the brake. At 7500 miles the jack shaft snaped off the gear box. Lucky for me 10 miles from a dealer 200 miles from home. Worked a deal with the dealer and rode my new 2009 RTX out the door within the hour. You have no brakes with the jack shaft is broke! Fun being towed!

The new sled does the same thing. Dealer says is normal. I notice the shaft is twice as big as the one on the 06. Does anyone have a cure for this besides "don't lockup the track on braking"?

gears

If your have reverse on your sled it could be the gears banging around.there is some slop between the cogs of the gears in the chaincase making them bang around when you lock/unlock the brakes. As far as I know ther is no fix for it.Shane

;)!

the BAM

Dealer said if I lock the track under braking, the driven pull may not close all the way. Then when I get back on the gas it slams shut. Kinda like dumping the clutch on a car.

The transfer rod adjustment, I assume you mean set the track suspension for more weight transfer to the track during acceleration? I'm I correct?

Dam, I like it handling loose in the back.

Your dealer is correct. Try to avoid locking the track while braking, or let off the break for a short period before hammering the throttle to give the secondary clutch the time to close. The buttons are far apart from the helix ramps when locking up the track, letting the track roll freely for a short time will make the buttons and helix ramps close thus the banging sound are eliminated then hitting the trigger.
