Well I just picked up my new Dupont sliders from my dealer today. I ordered them at the end of September and they have been on back order until now.
They must be very optimistic about the longevity of these sliders...there isn't any profile on the sides and there isn't any wear line or wear indicator on them. I won't be putting them on right away as I had already installed new sliders before I ordered the Duponts.

Awesome... They are just a dream for the rest of us.

Let us know how it goes once you do install them.

Let us know how they compare to the originals. They will have to outlast four of the originals to make them cost effective.

Cost wise Dave ur 100% right. But when you factor in pita factor of changing slides (I know, not rocket science but a pita nonetheless) I think they're worth it.

But reason I haven't gone for them, despite my early enthusiasm is they are designed to work with fully clipped tracks. Being I'm still running stock 136" ripsaw, I prob wouldnt see as great of a benefit from these. These work because the Vespel doesn't heat up sliding over metal, as in the metal clips on the track. It's an ingenious idea. But my stock track isn't fully clipped.

I pull my skid every year anyway as part of my maintenance routine so changing the slides every year is no big deal for me.

I agree, but when you hit warm weather or snirt and run through a pair of standard sliders in 350 miles (last February) it IS a pain to put on a new pair.
I want to see how the wheel lowering kit and low snow kit I put on this summer help before dropping $120.00 on new sliders.

Even a bigger pain to change 3 times a year in a -20 degree garage. Larger wheels eliminated that for me :)

Ordered mine 9/29 and received them today.
Dealer said Yamaha had shipped 1 set to each dealer due to production delays/problems.
They are expensive but if it reduces the number of times I have to replace them each year I am good with it.
My original slides on my 10 vector were toast at 450 miles on hard pack.
Scratchers helped quite a bit on the next set.
Hope they did some testing and the vespel inserts wont take out the clips.
My other concern would be the bond between the vespel inserts and the hyfax.

Here's mine at 2300 miles. Perfect conditions too. Hope the new ones last.

2300! Wow I have changed mine every 500 to 1500 miles! 2300 is a dream. Course I just knock them out the back and tap new ones in without dropping the skid. Doesn't seem like such a big job then.
