dupont slides and vibration.

I just put on a set of duponts on my 2012.xtx. I have about 90 mi on them and im getting a vibration on long straight aways. I did adjust the track tension and alignment after installation. There is very little weight on the idler wheels. Is this the slides vespel running over the clips im feeling or is something wrong?

It may have been the trail conditions that day. Also, check your drive belt for missing cogs.

Thanks for the info, ill check out the belt. Also the track felt loose on the way back home, almost like the sled was darting but from the track shifting. I was wondering if that vespel material in the slide expands past the hyfax when it gets hot.

Pretty sure those blocks don't expand to do what your suggesting.

By all means flip the sled over and have a look.

I have run duponts for over 6000k and never experienced what you are describing.

Like the previous comment, check the belt, check the idler wheels etc.

Everyday the trails feel different as the snow changes. I notice when there is not a good mat of fresh snow you can feel and hear different noises from the skid when there is not abundant snow for lube.

Thanks for the info! I did check the belt and it lost half the rubber on the outside of the belt, hence the vibration. Suprised it held together till I got home, we had some rough trail on the way back.

Also track needs a minor left right adjustment. Its not way off, but ill be double checking tension as well.

Kinda wondering if 1900 miles is around the time a belt would start to fail on a Nytro. Any info would be apprecited as I havent owned a sled in a long time. Im definitely glad to be back into the sport!

Change the belt and see if Vibrations goes away.

Glad you found the problem. If the slightest piece of the belt is missing you will feel it right away in the machine.

As for the distance. i would think the belt should last longer. I had one give out with 3000km of wear and another with 40000km
I suppose a lot depends on how you drive.
