REMOVE FRONT PHILLIPS SCREWS AT FRONT OF RUNNERS, LOOSEN TRACK, RUN A SCREW INTO VERY BACK OF SLIDE ON A SLIGHT ANGLE THROUGH THE REAR TRACK WINDOW. ATTACH A SLIDE TOOL TO THE SCREW AND USE THE SLIDE TOOL TO PULL OUT THE SLIDE.
IT IS NOT REQUIRED TO HEAT THE TRACK AND OPEN UP THE TRACK WINDOW TO R&R SLIDERS. DONE IN 20 MINUTES
YAMAHA SLIDES SURE DON'T LAST 250 MILES AND 8 MILES ON MARGINAL SNOW RIDE AND THEY WERE TOAST, WILL BE INSTALLING A PAIR OF IDLER WHEELS IN FRONT OF SKID

Front wheels will not help. I have got 800 miles on since I was 1/8" from the wear line. It has stopped wearing. I've had a new set of hyfax in the garage since last season. I might change just to put red ones on.
Everyone keeps talking about a slide tool. What is that.
Thanks

Get the slides started through the track window. Start the sled and put it in reverse. Apply a little throttle and the track will peel the slides right off. Did it and it works fine. No damage to anything.

Ditto what Dieselman said. Reverse trick works great. I was a skeptic until I tried it. What a time saver! Best part is, no special tools needed.

Dieselman do you do that with the track off the ground or on the ground? And how much of the Hyfax has to be sticking out through the window?

Bob, its off the ground and you don't have to have much showing at all just enough for the track to slide under it, the window of the track will peel it flawlessly. You don't even have to pull the slide at all, just put a screwdriver in between the rail and the slide and pop it off at the end, get the track behind it a voila off it comes

One more trick
I will have to try that reverse deal, but someone showed me another trick. Once you remove the screws, just user an air hammer on the plastic slide, just be carefull to only make contact with the slide. Also, you can put it back on with the air hammer, nice tool.
