Is anyone wiring off the sled or just coming off the battery with a 3amp fuse? In the past I have always wired off the sled, but it would be nice for it not to fog at all.

I heard of batteries freezing if they go dead. Any truth to this?

Thanks,

-J

Yes if a lead acid battery is dead it will freeze expand short out plates and crack the case. Now I am not sure about gel batteries.

Why not just plug in to the cigarette lighter type plug by the tank?

Saving that for my Mp3 Player/Gps.

Studdog, where did you get that info from.... What size fuze did you use?

Oh ya, that's where I bought my sled. Did you order a new sled? They said my GT is supposed to be in next week. Someones came in during the month of September, I went and looked at it (awesome) but I did not want it yet, so I opted for the bunch that was coming in October. How are they to deal with? The wiring plug, is that a Yamaha accessorie, or is it a after market one?

Have I mentioned lately how awesome this site is?? :rocks:

Since this thread is discussing wiring, I thought I would ask if anyone has experience with this product?

I HATE soldering wiring connections and if I could find a product that will stand up to abuse and maintain its integrity for an extended period, that would be great! Comments?

Here is a nice plug that can be mounted in a small spot on dash.
you can get them at you would just have to add a fuse

So basically that will only work if the key is on or the sled is running, correct and that's if you wire it directly to the battery. Will it drain the battery if the key is off and the shield is plugged in? I believe it will.

I am in the process of installing the plug from Maxximum Performance on my sled as well....pretty hard to beat the price of $12. I do wish that the piece that screws on and holds the cap was metal...
