(2009 Nytro XTX)
Ok. So i really hate to bring my stuff to the dealer or any shop for that matter because i am cheap, however, when it comes to electrical stuff i am lost mostly. So this weekend i had an issue with my sled just shutting off randomly. I thought for sure it was some sort of kill switch issue because I never got any codes or anything. I would start it and it would run fine, with out warning it would shut off, sometimes it would start right back up other times it would not ( it would always turn over and the fuel pump would always operate) after a few times of this and its refusal to restart I figured I was done so I called for trailer rescue. When taking it off trailer it flashes the error code 43 ( as many probably know that is usually a sign of a bad/frozen relay) so of course i get all gitty thinking I have found the problem. I thaw it out, it starts right up, a take her for a spin, ARRGHH!! it does same thing, only this time i get a code 33,35(coil paks for cylinders 1, and 3. So with no more options i figured it was time to take it to a shop. After a few days of squirming i decide to call "yeah you are all set" ummm?? all set?? what was wrong with it? "a broken wire at the base of the motor was rubbing on chassis" ok. cool how much? $252. Now of course i am letting my paranoia get the best of me because I am completely at their mercy because I haven't the foggiest clue if there is even a wire at the base of the motor. so the point to my babbling is; can someone please tell me if they have either had this issue or can validate this by some other experience that you have had. I do not mind paying the money I just hate wondering if I got duped.
Thank you for any insight

There is a casting nub on the front L/H corner of the motor directly behind your primary clutch. In that area is the main electrical harness. If the harness is not re-routed or tied back or if the nub is not removed it can and will rub the wires.

In my 2009 XTX I had all kinds of problems after about 6000 miles and found the harness rubbed thru bellow the bars as the harness crosses over near the tank.
Canoehead you nailed it. That is exactly what it was, wiring harness rubbed on the motor mount. My paranoia was for nothing, I am glad that I brought it to shop because I would have never found that. Picked her up and went for nice long ride with no issue. Thank you for the replies.
