Clutch starting
This is one of the first things I did with my 04 RX-1. I started it using the clutch while it was in my garage. It was not that difficult to do and it gave me a piece of mind.

Good idea, never even thought of that. I will have to place a new pull strap in the tool kit!!

As long as the battery has enough juice to fire the electronics for the cdi and efi, I've started an RX-1 with the clutch, haven't tried the Apex.

On the 2007 sleds the diagnostics checks for 4 lbs oil pressure before it allows the ignition to be on. This means when the engine is warm manually starting is relatively easy. But in the morning when the engine is cold manual starting is impossible. I seen this happen a couple weeks ago when a 2007 Phazer FX stopped starting with the switch. Of course considering that Yamaha DOES NOT INCLUDE a cord, and a plastic clip to attach the cord to the clutch, all of this is impossible. The reason why the Phazer FX stopped starting was because the LOCKTITE guy was asleep when this Phazer was built. Guess where the pull cord was found?....... a Ski Doo. I like Yamahas but I hate it when a new sled breaks for a stupid reason.

Starting it warm is one thing. Cold in the morning is another. Having tried to push start a R1 and failed I'd be hardpressed to even try a cold apex. If you could warm the motor first it might go. Thanks god I haven't had to try. LOL
