can anyone that has installed a gauge tell me what the normal operating temp is or should be and if possible what temp the fan kicks in?

165-175 degrees depending on the exact conditions that are being ridden on. The fan will kick on around 195 degrees with the light coming on at 210 degrees going off of memory.

I can let my Nytro idle for 15 minutes with the fan on and it keeps the light from coming on, now that's awesome designing.

I can idle my nytro about 5 minutes from startup and the engine temp light comes on at. Make a stop on a trail for one minute, the light comes on. Ride on a packed trail, the light comes on. It's 5 degrees (F) out, my hands are frozen, but the engine is too hot.
I need some of that awesome designing to transfer some of that heat from the engine to the grips!

I took out about 23 oz. of coolant and replaced with distilled water. I have yet to test it, but I will let you know the results.

I agree the grips are weak.
You may have already said, but what's your coolant strength at? And all Nytro's have a fan in the rad right?
