I just received my Apex GT and noticed is has a "clacking" noise when running. I haven't heard too many of these run, so this could be normal. Should I be concerned?

What an awesome sled. I can not wait for the snow now. Thanks Yamaha for such a fine piece of equipment.

Most likely it’s the clutch. The RX had the same type of noise. I wouldn’t’ worry about. :D

Fuel injectors can also make a klicking/semi clattering noise. I'll pay more attention as I have only had my apex running for about 3 minutes :D

My RTX makes the same chatter. It is comming from the clutch side of the sled. Haven't had to the time to investigate it yet. It probably isn't anything. When I really run her for the first time, we'll see if it clears up.

Most likely what you hear is the clutch. If you think the 4 cyl. is bad you should hear the 3 cyl. 120 vector clutch. My rage had a nasty rattle all the way up to 5500 rpm even after I installed the o ring kit it was still bad. The cluth noise in my attak is much better, only a little at idle but it goes away as soon as I rev it up.

Hmm, I don't hear much and have run mine at idle twice but all sleds I have ever owned make some sort of weird noise when starting out.

No worries yet  Give it 20-50 miles.

Just remember, their is no exhaust pipes in the front of the sled to muffle the sounds coming from thinks like the clutch and the reduction gears. On my RX1 I spent the first miles listing to strange noises than turned up the MP3 player and never looked backed....

If you really want to hear noises, take a nice slow ride with no helmet on sometime. You won't believe the noises you hear.
