I have an 06 Apex GT with 1700 miles. when sled was new I noticed a ticking sound when sled was idleing. Know this ticking is louder and I can notice it when I am running the sled. the faster you run the engine the faster the ticking is. does anyone have any ideas as to the noise. I took the primary clutch off and sounds the same. sounds like a loose valve tappit

have an 06 apex gt as well, yes it does tick, i have about 1000 miles on it, i have not noticed the ticking getting louder. I do own a 05 yamaha r1 sportbike. and it also has a tick, I think its just the way they are. r1 forum sed it was nothing to worry about. hoppefully

May want to have your dealer take a look/listen to it and get it documented.
I have a Yamaha FJR 1300 motorcycle that had a valve ticking noise which was said to be normal, like the R1's, but Yamaha actually came out with a bulletin and replaced the exhaust valves & guides on my bike.
May be nothing, but to have it documented early on is a plus down the road if it turns into something more.
