what engine oil are you guys all running in your rx1? New to yamaha this year and definitely new to 4 strokes, only has 1900 miles on sled but would make me feel better before going on a week ride. In my 4 stroke quads I have always ran AMS 4 stroke synthetic and have 6 or 8 quarts sitting around or should I stick with the yamaha brand oil? Any help would be appreciated

I don't think you will find many people who have had bad experiences with one oil over another...except when it gets really cold. I'm trying the Mobil 1 0W40 European formula this year because last year I almost had a no-start on a really cold day (hard to crank) and people have said that the Mobil viscosity is less variable with temperature changes than the Yamalube semi-synthetic that I was using.

yammy semi sythetic 0w30 at most untill you get over 2500miles. then full synthetic would be ok. kirkswim's war has full yamalube synthetic 0w40 in it atm as it starts better with it at -40c. sled has 15000+change km on it. only ran semi untill this season. we had problems not using yamalube in some stuff and going back cured the problem. and yes i was useing wet clutch compatible oil in both applications.

Ok thanks guys, this thing has been a learning experience already and haven't even been able to ride it!! Did the apex seat swap and 4 inch riser and now my check engine light blinks twice, I know its a hand warmer issue just can't figure out what's wrong with it!

Amsoil 0-40 full synthetic for over 20,000 miles works great.

Everything OEM for me. Yamaha Synthic 0-40. Mobile 1 or Amzoil in a pinch.

Everything worked as should before I did riser so I'm thinking electrical did a continuity test on both hand warmers both acted fine, I'm sure I plugged everything back in same way only thing that changed was my headlight high low switch is broke now but that don't seem like it should affect my hand warmers

Lol brothers switch was broken for years from a rollover. I actually forgot to plug in the wires connecting both hand warmers to each other on his when I had the pad off replacing left side controls because of a broken mount for his park brake.
