I know a lot of you, use synthetic oil. At NELSONS SNO-MOTION they are selling 4-stroke oil for $ 2.05 a quart if, you buy a case of 4 gallons. That would give me about 5 oil changes. With 2 oil changes the first year, that would last me about 3 years. If I was to go over to synthetics how many miles should I have on it. I run about 800 - 1200 miles a year. Or is YAMALUBE all I really need...thanks.

No if's an's or but's synthetic oil is superior to petroleum based oils in every catagory. But todays petroleum based oils are pretty damn good. There are 2 reasons why I run synthetic; It clings to engine parts so you don't have dry start conditions and it flows immediately at really low temps. Those two reasons alone are why I switch at about 1,000 miles (let it beak in some).
Mighty,,,Thanks for a good answer. I knew you would come though. Now I have to decide which way to go...Are you going to NELSONS this weekend???

I was planning on going Saturday (sounded like a good ride for my new V-max) but a buddy called me tonight and asked me to go to his kids first football game (8th grade). I'm hoping that I might have time to do both................
