Entrance into Canada requirements?

I believe it is a valid state drivers license or state ID card along with a valid passport. You can access the border patrol online and they will know for sure.
Someone in my sled club believes if you have a passport and a valid credit card or something else with your signature on it that works to but I don't know for sure.

I just did a bit of reading. Appears that all you will need is you passports. I would certainly make sure you have your vehicle and sled documents with you as well.

I used to vacation in Canada several times a year but with the new regulations I quit taking my family there. Getting into Canada is easy but coming back to the states can be a problem without a passport. NY state has a new enhanced driver license that costs an additional $30 and works without a passport. I think a couple other states are doing the same.

i see your in ny. do yourself a favor and get the dmv enhanced license if you havent already.

its getting back into USA that is hardest....i cross dailey here and for about 7 yrs i have had the NEXUS card, which allows me to cross with no questions,NO TRAFFIC EVER(nexus specific bridge) it is worth the 50 bucks for 5 yrs to get one IMO....i would never deal with the amts of traffic at the normal bridges!..hate that.

for anything else,a passport is all you need.

Going into Canada isn't the issue - a valid Driver's license, maybe some proof of insurance - but no passport that I'm aware of. It's coming back into the U.S. that'll be the problem (just take a look at the line coming back). Remember the U.S. is a little gun-shy right now. I've looked into this and unless you're flying back into the U.S. from Canada - you won't need a passport. An Enhanced Driver's License is the ticket. In the state of Michigan, it costs about $48. I've crossed the border many times this summer helping build a friend's camp.

A clean rap sheet and photo ID.

Gettin back in the States is the issue as stated above.

Damn Copo, that's a sweet avatar.....

Need Passport at minimum...... Or the new Border Pass or enhanced DL.

Also smart to have you DL handy. Have valid insurance proof handy on whatever vehicle you drive into canada, if you are smart (they have specific rules regarding this). If not crossing at a designated port, have a RABC (you should already know what this is).

And remember, you are allowed up to 1 litre of booze and/or a case of beer to bring with you each time you enter... (Both I think!!! ....... or is it 1 or the other???????)

Good luck. And if you have any felonies or DUI's (a felony in Canada) on your record, don't lie when asked. If they catch you, you will be arrested on the spot (remember, you will be IN Canada when asked) and you will never get into Canada again without a boat load of paperwork and basically an act of Congress.

But I think the U.S. is tougher to re-enter into than Canada is to enter......

My experience stems from being a prosecutor in a community 46 miles from Canada for 5 years (just a few years back).....

We vacation in Cape Breton Nova Scotia every year. If your in NY all you need is the enhanced NY license. If you bring your kids over you need their birth certificates and permission from both parents (if both are not with you)

just remember that the enhanced DL only work when driving over the border. (ontario anyways) make sure you clarify about snowmobiles and the enhanced liscence... bring passport/enhanced liscence, proof of ownership and proof of insurance only the liability one is requiered.
