Has anybody else dealt with this? I keep getting error code 12 when I try to start the sled ( 08 mtx) the first time. error code 12 is the crankshaft sensor. Moving primary doesnt help. Warming the sled up does the trick though as in the sun or with a heater. So I was thinking it is a cold issue ( only -5 to -15 c here though). Once the sled starts and gets warmed up there is no issue. Other than near the crankshaft ....where is this sensor?

Yes I had this. Is your gauge lighting up but engine does not crank?
Mine was the starter solenoid. The computer was expecting the engine to be turning but it wasn't so it tripped code 12. (or so the dealer explained)
Try either warming your starter relay or jumping the connection should start it.

Yeah, the gauge lights up but no crank over. Did you replace the solenoid? Thanks for the help.

After it happened to me a second time I replaced it and I have not had a problem since.

So it was just the relay that was replaced right? I heard that the grease used in the stock ones was too thick. I was in Northern MN this past weekend. It was -39 deg. Ok it was -20 when I went out to start the machine and it did nothing for the first 3 times I turned the key. It finally cranked and started both days. Thinking of replacing with new relays. Some that are for cold weather app.

Sometimes just cleaning the terminals and adding some dialectic grease will get it working.
