My 2008 FX Nytro RTX just started blinking error code 81. What exactly does this mean? That's one thing I don't like about these new sleds..when the light is blinking it really makes a guy worry. At least with the old sleds you didnt know something was wrong until it quit running haha!

Code 81 means you must report to the nearest Conservation officer.

My 2010 nytro xtx just threw the same code the other day and when I checked the warmers with an ohm meter both were completly fried
!!! When I plugged in an old set of bars off my old apex there was no code, but now I just hope that it wasn't my yamaheater that is causing the problem

Had mine do this last weekend for just an instant then it reset its self, handwarmers were working fine no codes the rest of the ride,. Rode last nite and noticed my lights getting dim looked down had a code 81, then lost the display on my dash then the sled just up and quit. Turned the key and nothing all was dark. Pulled the side panel and my negative battery terminal was loose. Tightened it up and all was good. Check your battery connections.

okay i'll check the battery. I did look over the sled briefly and noticed that the left hand grip slid off a little bit and there are some wires taped up near that and the ends are exposed due to the grips being slid down, so i'm not sure if anything like that caused it or what.
