EXCELL HEADER AND EXHAUST CAN. NO MORE ICE BUILD UP

I had a Aaen muffler on for a while and being ceramic coated it didn't build any ice in the tunnel. Put the stocker on and ice galore

I noticed you said you had the Aaen on your sled I'm asuming it's off now just wondering why.I had one also and I could'nt keep that piece of crap to stay together the back ring kept coming loose and melting my plastics.
My buddy has the same pipe and same problem.

I have the Aaen pipe on mine and love it. Had it ceramic coated black along with the header and I have hardly any ice build up. Nothing is falling apart on it or has melted anything on the sled. Only thing I don't like about it is how loud it is.... this might drive me to sell it as I can't hear myself think sometimes.

Really?

Try pulling the core and blocking off about 1/3 of the holes in it with some stainless sheet stainless ties. I was curious if this would help turn down the volume some. The weight savings of the Aaen is nice. But if you could get it to not rattle your teeth that would be better.

The noise maker is cool for about 30 minutes then it gets old. Its pretty bad when your in the mountains and the echo lasts almost a minute after you shut the machine off. I am waiting for a reputable exhaust company to come up with a under the tunnel exhaust, then I will sell it.

Has anybody tried to wrap their header with high temp exhaust wrap? I used this wrap on headers in street rods, on Harley and it drops the heat saturation coming off of the header by 50-75%. I just ordered a Trail Performer package #6 from Ulmer and am thinking of wraping mine to see how it works.
Any comments would be welcom.

I wrapped my muffler and pipes almost all of the header, pain to get it wrapped and secured enough. I didn't notice hardly any difference in the ice buildup, and now some of the wrap on the header is starting to come off after about 500 miles, so I'm going to have to remove the header pipe wrap, but the muffler is still fine. On a good note, my Ice and Water Shield covering is all still intact and doing it's job...

Obviously, your snow is different from what we have in the states.

Canadian snow looks different also, much whiter :-o

Don't forget that this was once the whitest of white powders - the Swedish January Dump. But after being thrown at and melted by an american exhaust system and then freezing to ice on a japanese chassis, it is slightly discoloured...

Jokes aside, the massive ice build-up shown in the pictures is a mixture of fresh powder and water spray from couple of water crossings. The worst case scenario for ice build-up...? Anyway, my conclusion would be that aftermarket exhaust systems and tunnel extensions do not affect the ice build-up in any way.

OK ok, you could be correct. But everyone knows Canadian snow is the best.
