Exhaust leak

I am taking my machine in for some warranty work, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I have an exhaust leak at the header. You can hear it under the plate they use to keep the heat down. It is very noticable when you first start it and it is cold. I have a stock exhaust, and bascally stock engine. Is this a known issue or just my bad luck. Other issues I am taking it in for include, 03 seat rivet ripped small hole in seat, rubber stoppers need to be installed for the cowling, starter occasionally will just click and not turn over, if you hit it a couple of times eventually it will go. Seems like a weak selinoid to me. The heat shield fell off my exhaust underneath, and of course my gauges fog up almost on ay ride at any temp.

I also had an exhaust leak. Mine was the PTO side header pipe broken in the flex. The fix was a favour called into Yamaha Canada and 126.00 later no problems.

Wow not bad only 2 I thought maybe it was a bigger issue. Mine is under warranty so hopefully they take care of me.

Check your exhaust gaskets. A friend's 03 (15 000 km) had 2 loose clamps which destroyed the gaskets. Cheap parts but it takes a bit of time.

broke exaust in 2. just 2 weeks ago after y pipe new exaust covered under 5 year warr also seat & 2 rail heat exchangers. yama stands behind what thay make also dealer to put on 05 seat mine is a 03
