My 03 Rx1 slightly changed in the sound of the exhaust, it started to bother me while I was riding so I stopped and covered up the exhaust and it does not hesitate or die out at all, just keeps on running like there's nothing wrong. When I do this to my 05 it starts to stall out almost instantly. I had the skid out 400 miles ago and looked over the exhaust under the tunnel and didn't see any damage or cracks. I'm leaning toward the exhaust donuts, I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how they determined what their problem was. I'm hesitant to tear it apart without the parts since we just got a good amount of snow, that being said I don't think it is a horrible leak, any major issues with running it the way it is until I get the parts?

Has it started backfiring? Id say its probably the donuts...

It hasn't backfired yet, I held it wide open last time I was out and grabbed a handful of brake to see if it would backfire at all and it hasn't, put 80 miles on it last time out and I covered up the exhaust 10 miles into the ride to see if it would stall out.
