I have a 2006 Apex RTX with only 400 miles on it, didn't get to ride much the last couple years. I was out on Saturday and noticed on our way back that at low speeds around 20-23 and 5-6K Rpm the exhaust noise had increased 2x+ what it was. It first I though I was nuts but as I continued to ride i thought it was annoyingly loud. I switched with my wife for a while and couldn't believe how much quieter the viper was. Is this noise that started the headers or the y pipe? Not enough miles to be having this issue! I took the headers off and I don't see any cracks. Any and all thoughts appreciated.

See my post about failing donuts and if the noise is what you hear. They can be kind of loud normally, if you are not used to the harmonics. But I think age of the donuts also plays a part in thier failure, if that's your case...did they look ok? Sounds like you had it all apart. If it's ok...run it. They do tend to get a little louder as they break in.

There is an exhaust drone in that range, also seems to change tone with ice / snow buildup after sitting during dinner, etc. Not sure if it's temperature sensitive either.
