I was told that Yamaha has an exhaust turnout for the RX1 similar to the Apex. Is anyone using them and have a picture of what they look like installed? Thanks

I just went to the local muffler shop and found a chrome turnout that fit. I had them weld it on and it cost a whole $10. I got the functionality and a little bling also.LOL

The turnouts are the Apex ones. Same muffler. $60 bucks. Should be nice so I can use my current tunnel bag.

I tried to find some from Yamaha for my Vector with no luck. Instead, I went with a pair of 50mm black, high temp silicone 90 deg elbows. I clamped them to the pipes then put the trim pieces back on so you dont see any clamps. Seems to work great. I thought about using 45 deg bends, but I went with 90's instead so as not to burn anything I strap back there.

I replied to your PM.
The silicone can take a lot more heat that my exhaust will make. I used bends like these on several turbocharger compressor housings and they never melted. I used the 34mm ones from here:

One last note, be sure and buy the polyester reinforced hose. It is for turbo applications. Some hose is called radiator hose... which is only good to 350 deg and is not reinforced. Polyester reinforced hose is usually good to 500deg.
Oh, also when it comes to clamping... you done want to use regular radiator hose clamps. They can cut the silicone. You want what are called "T-bolt clamps". ANy hose and fitting shop should sell them. They are much wider and 1000% more durable. THey look like this:

I was going to do a mod like this when I cooked the toe out of my good winter boots. But I wonder if doing an under-tunnel exhaust would end up being less pissing around in the end?
