I sent my wife to the shop to get a marginal snow wheel kit and an exhaust turn out. She called me from the shop , I told the guy what sled I had and she comes home with the items.
Tried to put the exhaust turnout on tonight and it says not for MTX in the instructions and on the back of the package. whats up with that? is it that big a difference between sleds that you can't install one or I need a different turn out?

I believe all are the same. I would guess they are doing that for liability reasons. You have room on the MTX to put a gas can on behind the exhaust and they probably don't want to encourage the possibility of the danger. That being said I ran one for a while with a can with no issues.

I have one on mine and no issues with it or the gas can.

This was discussed a while back. Legal reasons for doing this I believe is what everyone came up with. Just like what YamaMTX has said.

Thanks guys, that's what I figured too.
And Yamaha is smart since i bought the turn out so I could install a gas rack

Another option to not using the exhaust turnout is the rotopax fuel can. I have mine on there with no turnout and the exhaust barely even melts snow that gets on there. I really like the mounting system also.
