Exhuast Donut Replacement a real SOB!!!!!!!

I've done this on several XTX Nytros now. I removed the seat, took out the exhaust bolts and loosened up the donut clamps. Per instructions I read on this site, I moved the exhaust back a couple of inches, then took a pair of vice grips to compress one side of the expansion joint. Took a little work to get the old one off, but there was just enough room to slip in the new copper gasket. Hopefully I'll not have to do it again any time soon. Really like the OFT Racing copper exhaust gaskets.

Where did you get the OFT gaskets

This is pretty much exactly what I did only I used some oversized waterpump pliers. I didn't really thing it was that big of a deal to change them when I did mine. Maybe I just go lucky lol. I had bought mine from a seller in canada but he is no longer selling them. He was getting them made in china I believe and selling them pretty reasonable. Did mine 2 years ago so almost 3,000 kms on them now again. My graphite ones were starting to fall apart but not gone yet when i changed them at 5700 kms.

Right why support the site Vendors.
A lot of them are on there nowadays.
I know for a fact a few sell Ulmer copper exhaust gaskets on eBay because I just saw them.
You have to in today's online marketplace and whether it's there, Amazon, Yahoo etc. they all take about the same fee from sellers...probably a wash to sponsor fees hahaha just razzin ya Mr Sled

Razz away.. in time there wont be a TY. We cant run the server on bread crumbs, its depended on Advertisers and VIP members.. either way you dont help the cause.. now do ya??.LOL.

If I did more than run a warehouse you'd see the tag next to my name.
I tried several times to get CVTech to advertise here and several local riding area clubs & maps in WI, MN & MI.
I think they only took my advice once, but who am I. ..just a warehouse guy who only knows how to ship parts apparently :(

Edit I'll look into the VIP membership though. I'm not on here much, but enough to see the value in that. Plenty of good knowledge on this site and it's helped me and the kids more than once!

Edit II Black Tee & stickers coming my way :D

See I razzed you enough and now you are a VIP !! Awesome.

So I ended up buying three new flex pipes and all new bolts, gaskets from a dealer online and a set of the copper donuts on eBay. Got it all back together finally.

My allen key bolts connected to the header also rounded out EVEN with applying heat and wd-40 to them before attempting. This ended up being a 5 hour project or so. I attempted to use a small grinding wheel to them to cut a notch in them so I could try turning the bolts with a flat head(didn't work). I tried using an extracting bit(that didn't work). I tried drilling them out(that didn't work, they bolt heads didn't want to break off). Lastly I took a Torx bit and a torch to heat the head up enough and I hammered the bit into the rounded out head and I finally broke them loose and got them out. Ended up having to go buy new bolts, this time I got regular hex heads.

I know this is a little late for your situation but I was at the Toronto sled show last weekend and saw this at one of the booths.

I bought 3 of these flex pipes and installed them on my 09 nytro last night. $50 each and took a few hrs and some trouble along the way. But I think it’s the best way to go

I must be the only one that thinks changing the donuts isn't that hard to do. Just a little time and a few beers. Oddly enough, the amount of time increases with the amount of beers. It's seems to be a direct relationship! Lol
