Me however, I have proved it on 3 sleds that I have owned that having a fully cliped track and windows cut makes for a huge difference in slider wear, in that they dont burn off as fast, not even close!
Talked with a rep. from camoplast, and they said the narrower and un-cut windows makes for better flotation in snow. Technically he is right, as more surface area to the track, but with the windows blocked, how is lube soposed to get to the sliders???. Simple answer, it cant through rubber, so now your sliders burn off. Also, the newer style of narrower windows doesnt make the situation any better. As of right now, the current sliders on new yamaha's are wider than the track windows, meaning that there is no room for water or snow to get through the windows to the sliders, so they burn.
Advantages to a fully clipped and cut ripsaw over a stock one is an improvement in slider wear, and less rolling resistance. The coefficent of friction between plastic and rubber is greater than rubber and steel.
