I have owned my 09 Nytro shortie since new. The sled has been great. I had to remove my transfer blocks and make some adjustments in order to get it to lift the skis whenever I wanted to. I love the way it rode after I did that. I am looking to extend the track to either a 128 or a 136, wanted feed back on any negatives. I dont want to loose the wheelies that this thing does, its my favorite part. I bought those du pont slides, so before I cut them down I wanted to look into track extension ideas. is it worth it? I mostly ride groomed icy trails in Northern Wisconsin with the occasional UP trip. thank you

I don't know about the wheelie part but, but I see nothing but positives with extending your Nytro. I would think that as long as the track hooks up and you removed the transfer blocks that it would still wheelie? If you search threads on here you will find a large number of posts supporting an extended Nytro. It seems that the most popular is to use 128" rail extensions with the Star skid set back kit and a 136" track. The set back skid gives you a better approach angle for a better ride and better off trail performance. I extended my 09' Phazer to 144" with 6 degree tip up rail extensions and loved the way it rode and handled. The ride improved greatly and so did how it hooked up. On a hard packed trail it felt no different than my friend 128" extended Phazer. Off trail was a huge improvement over the stock 121" track. I bought a 08' Nytro last year that was already extended to 144" with the same 6 degree tipped up rail extensions. No time in the saddle yet with it but I am really looking forward to seeing how it rides and handles.. G.B.

My XTC shortie loves to wheelie too... My XTX not so much, not sure if it is the extra track on snow that just plain hooks up and goes or what but I bet an RTX is a blast to wheelie... I am sure some here have experience on both but the extended track was designed to minimize ski lift I think which equals inefficiency in snocross...

I extended my 13 nytro last year to 137” with backcountry 1-3/4 lug and it will still wheelie but nothing like it did as a shortie but as far as ride ill never go back to shortie it is so much more fun in the powder and handles the rough trails alot better

I have narrowed it down to either a 128 or leave it as a 121. Is a 128 extension really worth it? I know a lot do the relocate kit. But you loose transfer with it. I want to keep the awesome ski lifting weight transfer. So
I guess I am looking for opinions.

If you're happy with it as is, keep it as is. No sense changing something if you love the way it rides.

I have extensions if you need a set--I can send them to you and if you use them give me half price--if you don't like them send them back,,,these are on a long track skid right now from a skid I bought for parts----,Tod

I have not had any direct comparisons, same sled and setup going from 121 to 128. I feel that that is only adding a little bit so gains would be small but they are there. If i were in a position that i was already spending the money on a track then i would go for 128 sinse u dont need a tunnel extension to go that rout it is not much more money just to do a set of rail extensions.

I will say i did not see any negatives to any of the 128 sleds ive been on, they seem to handle and turn just as good as my 121 in the twisty trails.

136 sleds ive been on werent bad but was enough they like to push in the corners a little compared to a shortie. Some time dialing in the suspension can still make it decent though and u gain guite a bit of traction and better ride so i think the trade off is worth it.

Not to make it sound like they dont corner, they were not bad at all, really noticable though when u clime off a 121 to 136 then back on the shortie again
