Just shy of a liter in an MSR fuel bottle where the tool box used to sit. I use the tool tube that so many have used on off road bikes.
The MSR Fuel bottle fits in that tool tube perfectly with a sock around it to cushion it. It's not much fuel, but enough to get out of the woods in some cases.
Cheapest place on the net to get them is here: http://www.agrisupply.com/manual-canist ... l/p/67670/

I just installed a 07 tank which holds over a gallon more fuel ![Div20 ;)! ;)!](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/div20.gif)

That install above is on an '07, but its good to know an '07 tank will go on other years. I think I could get two of those tool tubes mounted in opposite directions. I want to put one on my Apex XTX, but the exhaust is so low, that even with turnouts, it would heat up that fuel.
