Thinking of changing tracks to the new Ripsaw II clipped and windowed, figured I MIT as well go extros as well. I'd like to sick with Yamaha parts, and I did most of the research.

2009 RTX-SE 121"

Looks like 9 tooth extros. Just the outside two, right?

They are just pressed on with a slip collar on either side?

How about the Yamaha part number? I looked it up and they only show outside drivers on 2011 and up.

Help?

Thanks,
Dave

Extroverts usually come as a pair of drivers. They look like stock drivers except they have teeth that stick through the windows of the track. They do this so that if the track is run loose, you have a less chance of racheting the track.

I'm not sure when or if YAMAHA switched them on the nytro, but usually extro's are found on mountain sleds. Maybe try looking at a Nytro MTX? I know ulmer racing on here sells them as well.

Yes, thanks, I know what they are and what they do. I also know that my buddies 2010 RTX-SE came with extros. They don't list them in the parts break down.

Why not use the 13 rtx parts?

From the Yamaha site:

New single-piece extrovert drive sprockets
Churning the track is a pair of factory-engineered single piece extrovert drive sprockets. The engineering team purpose-built these sprockets to work with the Ripsawâ„¢ II track to further reduce noise and vibration.

Sorry, I guess I thought you were looking for more info on them. Looks like relbus has the answer you're looking for. Yes they are pressed on, someone on here I'm sure can supply the measurements you need to align them properly on the driveshaft so that your track stays centered.

The 2013 model has a different axle diameter, and the extros wont fit your old style axle.

Get avids, or wahl bros. Depends on how much you want to spend.

No problems, I may have not said it as clear as I'd like to.

Here's what i found:

2009 MTX has the same axle and the same inner drivers, which are not the extroverts. The extros go next to these on the outside. Yamaha part number 8FS-47532-00-00.

Is that the answer? Take off the outside drivers off, and then just press on the new extros.

Anyone else done this?

Thanks!
Dave

EDIT: Part numbers for the inners are different and it looks like they only have 7 teeth. Crap...anyone?

The MTX drivers is 7 tooth, your drivers is 9 tooth.

You will either have to get both the 2 outer, and the 2 inner mtx drivers.
Or get a set of avid/ wahl bros extroverts, which in my opinion is a much better option.

I would look at the whal brothers extros, nice and not to much. If your not running boost you don't need avids. Make sure you get the correct pitch as the new ripsaw has a 2.86 pitch I believe.

Remember, I'm running the shortie, 121. The new track I'm looking at is the Ripsaw II 121x15 and is still 2.52 Part number 9214H.

If I were running boost, what is the difference between Avid and Wahl Bros?

Dave

Hmmm I'm was pretty sure that those new ripsaws had a different pitch but could be wrong. I would double check that to make sure. Avids are a better built driver, cnc machined. Hold up better to the higher hp from boost. I have the Wahl drivers and they seem to be holding up well for me after a few seasons on them. I'm modded this year so we'll see how they work out.

From Camoplast website:

Yeah I just checked it out too, I see the 2.52 pitch is new for this year and it's 2ply also. So you getting it or what?

Thinking about it. Gonna see how much I can get one for at the powersports show this weekend. Going 144 woody's gold diggers up the middle too!

Off topic, This will be my first year riding an identical nytro to yours. I see you also have a viper, how did you like the nytro compared to the viper? I kept mine for now incase i didn't like the nytro.
