Scooter.......The answer to your question is easy, assuming you have a RX-1 mountain - 8 tooth. I, unfortunately, found out the hard way last year. I ordered 9 tooth extrovert drivers only to find out, once installed, that 9 tooth drivers will not fit. Basically, there is not enough adjustment in the track adjuster to allow for 9 tooth drivers. The 9 tooths will fit, but the track will be tighter than the sheets on a Marine’s bunk.
The whole idea behind extrovert drivers is to run the track loose (thereby not robbing horse power) yet not have the track ratchet.
Anyway, I (well, my "wrench friend" and I) had to redo the job and install 8 tooth extrovert drivers.
I read somewhere last year where somebody did install 9 tooth drivers on a RX-1 mountain, but I think the individual did not install extrovert drivers. I do not know why 9 tooth extrovert drivers are too tight, but 9 tooth non-extrovert drivers seemed to work for the other person. Perhaps, there is some variance in driver size from one manufacture to another. I don't know.
