I have ordered a 136" kit with extroverts and have a question. Has anyone gone this route and kept the OEM outside drivers on the driveshaft as well. Can you time them to the new extroverts or not? I would like to keep the outside drivers intact for track support. Worst case I guess one could machine off the driver nubs on those outside drivers. Also, is it really necessary to have the fourth wheel kit on the back axle?

I put the extroverts on my 121 and had the same concerns. I put mine on and considered doing the same thing...leaving the outside drivers on with the extroverts. I ended up NOT doing it as my mechanic told me it's not nessescary b/c the extrovert teeth extend far enough to give plenty of support. I put 2000 miles on with NO probelems at all.

:!: Make sure you have enough clearance from the top of the teeth on the extroverts to the suspension cross shaft. I had to machine mine down a fair bit to gain clearance. Again not sure if this matters with the 136 :!:

Not sure about the 4th wheel kit question.

I have my Wahl brother extroverts ready to install and I had the same questions. I am thinking of using the stock drivers in addition to the extroverts too. The last thing I want is for that 2" track of mine to really hook up and spin the extroverts on the drive shaft. Powder Blue

i would use the out side one,s any way just for track suport just like the v max 540 had . thay work just like a 4th wheel kit . even more so if you dont have the 4th wheel kit. on sleds that get used a lot i have noticed that were a wheel kit is not in stalled the unsuported segment of the track starts to break apart there first and the rest of the track looks fine . i installed a 4wheel in mine before even running it and i have had not racheting once. just my 2 cents

Guys up here that put on the Wahl Brother extraverts in the 9 cog have had NO problems with just 2 drivers turning 156 and 159" x 2" paddle tracks. Last season I ran the Cycle Works extraverts (very simalar in disign) but 8 cog and they skipped, so I ran 2 stock drivers with them and I did have to modify them slightly to time up with the extraverts and then it was pretty good. On the Cycle Works drivers the 9 cog don't line up with the stock drivers but the Whal Brothers are made much better even though they are made by the same company so they may line up in the 9 cog. I have a 159" x 2" and I bought a new drive shaft and a set of the Whal Brothers 9 cog extraverts and I'm just going to try them by them selves. I think they will work way better and if your running 9 cog you get more track in contact with the driver so I don't think it'll skip. As a side note we have been running the extraverts since 97' and back then they were pretty s#!??y in design and when they skip it sounds real bad but none of us have ever had any track damage but it does round the heads that go through the track on the drivers.
