Feedback on Shaper Bars on Stock Yamaha Skis Please

yes
put i like woody dooly
thay are the best in my mind

I've used shaper bars, dooly's and duece bars... I like the duece bars best. The shapers work good in corners. The woody's work very good for straight line.. The duece bars are a dual carbide runner that is shaped like the shaper bar.. They are the best of both worlds... And they seem to take a beating. MM.

Iv used shaper bars for years and they work awsome, this is when compared to any conventional style carbide and the dual setup.

Stangley, besdes the fact that I knew I had twice the carbide and runner for weight, the only thing that bothered me about the dual setup was how it turned on glare ice. With the duals, the axis for turning the carbide is between the two runners, so they both pivot around, and not on the axis, making steering not so accurate on glare ice. Not a big deal by any means, but noticeable.

Get the largest carbide length you can also.

Used the shaper bars on my GT last winter and they worked good but I had some shimming under the rubbers and when the bars wear a bit the handling changes.
I have the Duece bars to try next on the GT to help with the darting.
I tried the Doolys on my old Warrior and they were good for reducing the darting but pushed in the corners and had a flat spot in the front of the bar which would catch on certain things and give me and the sled a jolt.Attempted to cross railroad tracks and came to a dead stop and almost went over the bars as the front of both carbide bars caught the rail.

I used them on both my machines and liked them. My Venom has no studs and the Nytro does. Held the line w/stock skis on the Venom better than the Nytro. Put bergstroms on the Nytro and loved them. Either way, both imo are great but the key is to get after market skis and shim- world of difference.
