Tried searching -

OK wife says she wishes her bars were a little taller to make riding easier while standing.

I dont know really how much she stands when she rides, but she says about "half the time" and over the rough stuff. She always behind me, cant really see.

I dont think she needs much, was thinking maybe 2 inches?

Also I have kicked around the idea of some risers for me. I rarely stand to ride, but generally stand up for the biggest of stuff. Im 6'2 and thought if Im doing one I might as well do two. I am noticing a little soreness in my upper back. Its right about the place where I would have to hunch over some to get to the bars. Im thinking if I can raise them it might keep my back a bit straighter.

Anyone my size add some risers for my type of riding....what size did you go with?

Then comes the ultimate question for both. At what point will I need brake/cable help?

So I guess 3 questions.....thanks in advance.

You did not tell us what sled your on but:

I just put a set of ROX adjustable risers 4" to 5.5" on my 07 Attack in addition I used the ROX universal mounting bar which did not fit inside the chrome trim ring so I put an old set of stock RX-1 bar mounts under it to clear the trim ring. The net effect is I am 3 inches taller at the lowest setting of the ROX riser than stock. Everything works no problem or re-route. If I extend the bars up the 1.5" the tors kicks in on full right hand turns.

The nice thing about this setup is you can also rotate bars back if you like to sit further back on the seat.

I am running the bars at lowest setting and waiting for mountain cable to come in. Even if you add a new cable they are only $22.

I can tell you the RX's only had room to add 1" riser 2" activates TORS.

Sorry...we both have Apex. 07 RTX and 08 LTX

I was searching and reading more. I think with my riding style mostly sitting some standing a 3 inch wouuld be fine. Pivoting would be nice to change the angle for varyign riding terrain or mood.

I think she would do fine with 2-3 inches.

I would really like to keep the stock appearance as much as possible. Im kind of looking for the ones that just get locked into the stock mounts then move up from there. I prefer not to get rid of the stock riser.

Well if your on Apex's you can order stock attack block it is 2" taller and will look stock. You shouldn't have any cable issues.

Thanks Monster....that is exactly the thread I was looking for.

Everything just bolts into stock placement, stock caps, stock riser pad and everything.

Owe ya a cold one some time.

I no real issues getting mountain cable if needed. I will take some measurements with her on it and see how it goes, where we are at

riser

Hey Kevin, you could find a used stock spacer, cut it in half, and put one piece on each of your sleds.
My riser system is in the pic. I have about stock height, but it is forward about two-three inches and my cables seem to have plenty of room. The piece on the bottom is the stock riser cut off.
D

stock mountain risers are cheaper than rox, have the look of stock,i bought rox before i knew that.
