Well I pulled the pistons out of my apex , the compression rings are stuck in the pistons seized in from condensation possibly but now I know why it worked fine when I parked it then wouldn't start the next fall lol re ring it and put it back together will be good as new

Well that sucks, hopefully everything works out.

Curious, what grade of fuel did you leave in the sled? Did you use any fuel stabilizer?

That's why I run my sled monthly or so in off season. When ever you start one of these four strokes make sure you run it long enough to get it good and hot so it burns up any condensation from cold start. Did you by chance only run it a small amount before parking it at the end of last season? I remember a story of a guy that started a sled (cold)ran it in his trailer and wen't back a month later to start to put in storage and it would not start. Ended up having no compression with valves all corroded.

No I never put anything in the fuel it was stored in a Quonset usually run about a 1/4 of av gas or octane booster in every tank

Ya

No it was parked and only started up for a few seconds in the summer then shut off the rings are def stuck good in the pistons oil rings nice a free I have them soaking right now hopefully by Monday rings will be free , ya I could see could see it making condensation will be starting it up lots from now on and letting it warm up

What fuel were you running in it last? Race fuel by chance?

Just some premium fuel with some race gas mixed in , when I pulled the pistons the oil rings were free but the top and center rings were seized into the pistons , must have got moisture in engine wax parked in a Quonset with a dirt floor must be where moisture came from

If you were running a rich AFR and the cylinders were getting washed with fuel, the leaded race fuel oxidizes everything steel after sitting. We've had to disassemble cylinder heads that ran race fuel before storing because the valves were rusted solid after sitting... it's like the fuel rinses any lubricating properties away, probably the reason they sell top-end lube addititve for fuel.
