I am replacing the radiator (stone hole), and I am wondering if there is any tricks to refilling the system. I have filled the resovoir, but seem to have a lot of coolant left over.
Any help would be appreciated

there is more than likely a lot of air in the system since the reservoir is the tallest point of the system just start it up with the cap loose and keep adding fluid till it burps all the air out.

there is a bleeder screw for them. i can think of where right now lol so i cant describe it for you but i know where.

The air bleed is the little black rubber cap on the metal pipe just below the tank. It's held with a small spring clip. And even after refilling it, you will probably need to burp it as explained by nswsparky.

thanks... I can put about 1/3 of the coolant into the reservoir, and I will warm up the engine with the rubber cap off. (I found the bleeder).

Hopefully, the coolant will go into the engine before it overheats.

coolant

A trick we used at the shop was to tip the sled to the right, left ski off the ground about a foot or two. Idle the sled up a little for about 15 to 30 seconds. This will get most of the air bubbles out of the system and work the coolant through. Give it a try......

i put some waterwetter stuff in my cooling system too. just to try and keep the temps as low as possible..

I just changed the coolant on 3 Phazers last month.

I put in as much coolant as I could and then ran the sled to get the thermostat open. I used a little hand suction pump to force air into the tank while the bleeder was open. Once fluid came out of bleeder I just ran it was the cap off for a while. It works fairly well to get the air out.

Does anybody know of a trick to get all the coolant out of the system? The manual says to tip the rear of the sled up after disconnecting the lower rad hose. Tried it, hardly anything came out.

I disconnected the lower rad hose and use a small hand pump to force air in the coolant tank and forced out most of the old coolant out.

I'll give it a try after I get everything back together.
Thanks!
