Finally got my 2008 set up better than my Rev

I have been making modifications to my 2008 FX Nytro RTX for the last 4 years and finally have it set up perfect. Much of the way I judge this is if I can ride as fast (or faster) on trails than my two buddies with revs (2005 skidoo adrediline and 2009x) I also have a 2003 Rev MDX sport. I finally have it set up so I can keep up or outride them on typical groomed trails.
The main changes are

1. GYTR front shocks with Hygear triple rate springs. The fox floats were unbearable for me. THe triple rate springs made the largest difference in riding over studder bumps at high speed. The GYTR shocks were revalved twice (softer)

2. Pilot Skis - eliminated darting Also shimmed bumpers. Tried the dually carbides but made it too difficult to steer. There are probable better skis, but these were good for me.

3. Dual rate center springs. better ride over bumps again

4. revaved centerand rear shocks lighter

5. the 2.5mm modifications to the ball joints.

6. The Oft steering relocator. Helped for easier steering and alloowed me to increase ski pressure.

7. Added coupler blocks. I cant remember where I got these. This helped prevent wheelies

8. New re-inforced subframe, after bending the first one

8. Other miscelaneous minor modificaitons

after the above changes my one buddy (who can typically ride faster than me) decided to go home after one day on the trails in Wisconsin after he couldnt keep up. Not sure if there about other modifications that would help more, but the above help for my type of riding. The origional set up on the sled was horrible, and I couldnt keep it on a trail over 70mph. Both my friends flipped the sled, and I ended up in the hospital. Not sure if I would go through all of this again if I bought another sled though.

You should try the 128" relocate with an Ice Attack track. So far I haven't had any Revs even come close to sticking with me. I've been debating about updating the front end geometry but I'm not sure if it needs it now. The 2008 front seems to be working well with all the changes made. I've been working on this sled since 2008 and finally I can run it harder than any other sled I've owned. This sled is amazing!

The sled started working a lot better after revalving all the shocks and adding the Curves a few seasons ago. This season I installed 6" shaper bars with the leading edge, did the Fox Float Evol upgrade and installed a 128" Ice Attack with the Star relocate. I believe the 128" upgrade made the biggest improvement in the overall trail performance but I'm sure the other changes didn't hurt. The sled hooks up and handles corners at high speeds better than any other sled I've rode. I swapped sleds with a few guys last weekend and they didn't want to give mine back. I used to have problems keeping up with these same guys on their Revs. It's a good feeling being top dog again.

The relocate kit was $140 from Star Suspension. The track was the costly part of the upgrade but I needed a new track anyways.

Been on the fence with this ....Hmmmmm new zbros front end or star relocate or both

I'd start with the 128" relocate especially if your tack is showing signs of wear. Mine had a little over 5,000 miles and was missing many of the lugs so I decided to spend the extra money for a 128". You may find that the OEM front is not all that bad with the relocate installed. I may eventually install the Hygear upper a-arms just for the extra adjustment.

I went with the ICE Attack XT: http://www.tracksusa.com/ice_attack.html

Can you get the page for the Nytro on Star suspension web site in english?

I use the Google translator add-on in Firefox and in Explorer you can right click on the web page and select "translate with Bing".

Hey xrider wouldn't a 136 be better........with a relocate kit?
That is what I ended up going with. I used the Tracks USA 128" rail extensions and the Star relocate kit to get to 136". I am extremely happy with this set-up.
