After seeing the 2020 release I quickly grabbed the last new X-TX LE Sidewinder still available anywhere[according to Yamahas dealer inventory information]. I had lost one other one because I dragged my feet too long and was holding my breath that this one would still be available after the 2020s were released. My Apex is not going anywhere either.
Parts are already on order for the X-TX...and so it begins...again.:)

Nice looking machine!

She's a beauty!! Congrats on your new weapon

Congrats , great looking sled. Might need a higher windshield. That Apex is a nice color also!

Love those Yamis in all blue! Sharp sled! The red metallic is pretty sharp as well!

Have not ridden the sled yet and have been disassembling and checking everything over.

Things I found and did today:

-chain adjustment was very loose...almost 4 turns from finger tight...adjusted to 1 1/4 turn from finger tight
-chaincase oil level was barely visible on sight glass...topped it off
-removed roll over valve and replaced with a hose loop...I was amazed at the water in the OEM setup and sled has no miles
-muffler bolts came out easily but one had flattened threads...I ran a tap through all threads and replaced with SS bolts with Copper never seize
-added a heated visor plug

Tomorrow I will start checking over the clutches...I have a brand new Apex clutch that I will assemble and install on this sled as I want all the pins to be secured with set screws...I will keep the brand new Sidewinder clutch on the shelf as a spare.

Thanks again to everyone for the info on this sight to hopefully save myself and others from having issues.

Todays finds:

-Had a heck of a time removing primary today but finally got it off....reinstalled and torqued to Yamaha specs
-Secondary clutch had virtually no wrap on the helix/spring...I never looked where the spring tang was when I removed it but it must have been 1-0 for a 10 degree wrap only. When I loaded and unloaded the sled from my truck it was clutching very strangely[it has 1 mile on it]...that explains it.
-I installed a Yamaha White spring wrapped at 60
-I removed shim behind secondary clutch and set up the secondary with a generous float then shimmed the secondary sheaves for proper belt deflection...I have always floated my secondarys and have never had any issues even on a 350 HP SC Apex. I know this is contrary to most tuners recommendations but sometimes I am a slow learner and have to learn the hard way.:)

It was such a beautiful day I put the tools away and went for a 100 mile ride on my Apex, not many riding days left... I will see what I find tomorrow

Looks great. Those mountain style spindles are eye-catching.
My local dealer had a yellow and blue winder in the showroom but it sold one hour after the launch of the 2020's. lol
It seems the new colours are not going over very well.
