We I finally got some trail miles on my sled,1st ride I put about 48 miles on and only used two fuel bars. So far I love this sled just need to adjust the suspension a little more and change the skis. Ill get in to a detailed ride report later,But my sled over heated about 9 times in the 65 miles I road. I have two reasons I think it might be,One Which I hope it is! That the snow we were riding on was HARD packed snow,Very hard. There was no build up anywhere so I think that could be the reason. Also My track is kind of lose so maybe to got to lose it hit my heat exchanger and bleed the coolant out. Which is impossible because I just checked it and its fine. So could the hard packed snow be to blame? But 9 times in 65 miles? But after that man this sled ROCKS.Needs little more tuning and different skis! :4STroke: :yam:

I find it hard to believe you could ever have your track loose enough without it ratcheting to put a hole in your exchanger. Have you removed the stud protectors on the exchanger?

No I have not,But it did not do that. Because my Anti-Freeze is still there. I Tought it was possible,If it is not I am sorry then. But still over heated 9 times in 65 miles,Due to hard packed snow? This is what I am pretty sure it is.

Sounds like you definitely had a snow issue. These sleds need snow flicking from the track unto the rads to stay cool. Over heating will happen very easy in bad conditions, especially if your riding on ice packed sections.

Remember- Nytro's have a radiator w/fan as a source of cooling. Snow conditions have nothing to do with that. Your front heat exchanger would be less effective though. Do you know if your fan was running?

Sounds to me like a low coolant issue or an air pocket in the engine. 08NytroRTX had a problem with the coolant overflow tank showing full after a hose got punctured, but the cooling system was actually low.

I've had mine come on as well, but it's important to check the coolant mixture!!! Yamaha tends to send things out with 100% anti-freeze, and not mixed with water. This will keep the coolant from being as effective, and not cool as well.

I Am not 100% sure on if the fan is running,When I shut the sled off I dont hear nothing running. I do think it was the lack of snow because the 1st 40 miles or so was the sled did not over heat once. We might be getting some snow friday so I am just going to take it and see what it does once when we are in some good snow. There is a heat exhanger update isnt there? Like adding another one or something?? I thought I heard it on this site somewhere.

As far as the ride report goes I am going to post another topic after this,So stay tuned!
