That is a classic Magnesium and water explosion, fire probably burned long enough to get the magnesium burning and all it would,take is a bit of melted snow.
Reminds me of responding to a vehicle on fire when I was a Fire Fighter and we found out that year of VW Beetle had a magnesium block.
On the bright side it is a pretty fireworks show if you are standing far enough away!!!
FYI- your Genesis Engines have a good chunk of magnesium in the engine. If it catches fire you have less then a minute before the magnesium could light off too. When that happens don't throw snow! RUN!!!
Then call your,insurance company and find a new sled
