First thing I need to say is, I LOVE the weight transfer the 05 has. The new rear skid is a lot smoother then my VIPER with the shock up date was. The cliker on the side works good too, but I still cant say it's the smoothest riding skid made. I will need more time on it. The motor is so smooth you cant tell where the power is coming from. 2 POLARIS guys took it for a ride in the field and fell in love with it. We had our first drag race this year on our strip, saterday 1/8/05 { Elvis birthday } My sled is stock, about 400 miles on it with 144 studs. My brother with the 04 F-7 with CPR clutch and air mods can pull a good 1 length on me after about 300 ft, I could beat him in a race all the time due to the great transfer my 05 has, so we had to do rolling starts so I could see where he could pull on me. It was about identical with my other brothers VIPER with CPR pipes and clutch kit. He had just a bit more on the top then the F-7, but still had a good sled length on me. I was not ther just to win a race, if I was, I would have had a lot of them. The transfer is so good on the 05 that they could not pull back up on me by the end. So thats why I made them run me on slow rolling starts so I could see how much and when the other sleds could pull on me. A 02 700 edge with twin pipes- clutched- air mods, was dead evin with me all the way on rolling starts. As the others in a race I could beat him. I was very happy with the performance of my new 4-stroke, and so was a lot of the guys. Some of them came up to me and said they could not beleve a stock 4-stroke was running with 700 2-strokes that had some mods on them. All the guys I ran with I know well, and ther sleds are set up very good. Soon I will have a CPR clutch and air mods on my sled too. If that takes care of that pull in the mid the fast ones had on me, then I will really have some fun...Gary.

I have only done a little racing with my 04 warrior but havent had a stock 700 or 800 even come close to beating me. Top end isnt even close. I dont even run studs but that rip saw hooks like it has 144 studs in it when your on hard pack. ===SRXSRULE===

Gary, I'm pretty sure that once your sled loosens up you could beat all those sleds you listed. Doing the mods you plan on will really open their eyes to 4-strokes.

i would have had a chance to race a 04 zr900, 02zr800, 02xc700, 00srx, 02viper, 03rev600 today but with the freezing rain we got a week ago, the 4-6" snow we got 2 days ago ontop of it, and no studs i couldn't do anything with the 05rx1 but spin in one spot. i have raced the xc700, srx, viper and rev before on some hard packed snow and they can't touch the rx1. i am very curious to see how it does against both zrs. but i think i'll beat them cuz the srx can beat them by a sled length or 2 and i got the srx by about 5 sled lengths xmas day. guy on the xc is a big polaris nut,(gives me crap rite now cuz my viper is out of comission for the moment) and he couldn't believe that i beat him, he rode it and really liked it.
so the studs are ordered
should have them sometime this week, but i'd like to get my viper back together

I wouldn't know what to do if I got to race stock sleds. Most of the guys in my group have some kind of motor mods in them, plus clutching and air mods. Even the 700 edge I ran had to use racing gas. However, My 2 brothers motors are stock. Im just going with CPR air and clutching mods, and a silencer mod too. And that will be it. My motor will stay stock...
