This is for LTX or 121" also. This is the same setup I use on my '06 Apex GT (121") save for the ability to adjust the shock electrically vs manually.
Depending on everyone's given weight & trail conditions more compression may be needed on the remote dial on the tunnel. PLEASE realize this.
1. Front shocks-- pre-load measurement of 1 7/8" collar to collar
2. Front shocks-- compression. clicker dial is 3 clicks in from full soft. In other words, turn it in counterclockwise (out) 'till it stops, & then in 3 clicks. Do not force it past the last click. Gently turn it to the last, it'll stop. IF you do happen to go past the last click, DON'T count the initial click as "1", count it as "0" then turn it 3 clicks.
3. Front shocks-- rebound. clicker dial is 3 clicks in from full fast rebound. In other words, turn it counterclockwise(out) 'til it stops, & then 3 clicks in. Same as above, don't force it past last click.
4. Rear Mono-Shock pre-load-- Leave it in the stock cam notch. This should be the middle notch.
5. Rear transfer rod-- Turn the transfer rod IN to a measurement of 1 1/8". Distance is measured inside, between the two slotted collars. One being the adjuster you turn & other is the lock collar.
6. Rear Mono-Shock rebound-- 3 clicks from full soft, according to the dial on the tunnel. In other words, turn it all the way to full soft & then 3 clicks toward hard. NOTE: the compression feel will also change as the rebound is set tighter for weight & trail conditions.
7. Some people have gone 1-2 notches tighter on the limiter strap. I personally have tried it & noticed no difference from the stock location.
REMINDER!! the rear setting can & will have to change some depending on your weight & trail conditions. This also will change the feel of the compression too.
On a side note also. As we all know the stock Yamaha skis suck major balls. WIDE SPACED Dually runners in the 6-10" range are highly recommended. I use these, they BITE & DO NOT dart. They are the widest spaced duallys out there & are sold per pair, vs anyone else who sells each. www.johnmaster.net Sno Studs 8" double down PN# RD6808
As are Snow-Trackers if you choose that route.
ONE EDIT TO THIS SETUP: Whenever my wife rides the sled, I put the Mono-Shock preload to full soft. She said the middle setting was a little harsh for her. She's about 125 lbs with gear. I don't think many of us guys here are only a buck-thirty geared up, but be aware that a light rider may want the Mono set on soft.
Any other questions, or pictures if you're curious what I mean by collar to collar on the fronts & transfer rod.
Regards, Tom.

I have an 06 Vector GT, I assume this setup would be good for me or close? I am 175lbs and ride trails pretty aggressively. Every post I reas says use CATmans setup, just hoping it is good for my sled too!!

Handles great. Set yours up like this, I'm sure you'll like the results.

Thank You! One more question if you don't mind, I have about 2100 miles now and my carbides are pretty worn.
What good options do I have? Replace skis with after market, replace with factory carbides, aftermarket carbides?
The sled goes where I point it for pretty good even with the worn carbides, my biggest concern going to a larger ski would be greater steering effort as you already need to put quite a bit of muscle in it now. If there is a better overall ski out there this would be the time to change vs spending twice...
FYI, I plan to make all the setup adjustment this week as I brought the machine home and it's in the garage

As I linked, the duallys via Johnmaster.net in the 8" length have done me extremely well. They are the widest spaced duallys on the market, and most cost effective as they are sold in pairs, while all others are sold each.
I've ran them on 3 Vectors, 1 Apex, 1 RS Nytro, & 1 FX Nytro ( which only helped that F-ING POS track straight, nothing for cornering bite, but that's the sled, not the runners. FX Nytros shoulda been aborted & never produced in my opinion)
Many guys swear on Sno-Trackers. I've never used them. So I can't comment.

you mention the 8 inch, are you running 8" on a 121 or longer track? would that be a good choice for my 121" with 96 studs? or should I go a little shorter?

8" period, regardless of track length.
I had 10" on the FX Nytro 121", again trying to get that POS to bite.
Otherwise it's been 8" on the LTX Vector, 121 Vector ER, & 121 RS Nytro, & Apex GT 121.

It rides awesome with this set up!!! Most settings were close but my transfer rod was closer to 2" I think that was the difference maker.
What has been done to increase traction on the Vectors? thinking maybe a 1.5" track?

Glad to hear.
You studded? Don't believe in them?
If not, 1.325 length in a 3-2 pattern every bar.
Otherwise, maybe think about an Ice Ripper??

I have done the same as I couldn't back into my garage with confidence, after the spring change it's fantastic.. Best sled..One other suggestion I may make, if you feel like the initial engagement is a bit harsh, and initial throttle response is jumpy, put in the "soft start" spring from Travis at Barn of Parts.
I have these springs in all 3 of our Vectors, and it makes the takeoff & overall powerband of the engine SUPER smooth.

I am studded, 96 in good shape. I find in loose snow I am spinning a lot. Most of my riding friends ride Ski Doos, swapped with one of them this weekend for a bit and couldn't believe how much better grip his had ruining an aftermarket 1.5 track
on the pother hand they all drink the Ski Doo "cool aid" by the gallon and he was surprised by the ride and power of my Vector
