We finally finished studding it, and got the compression and rebound settings figured out...and greased the skid. We have about 3-4 inches of snow on the ground..just enough to go for a quick spin in the field next to my buddies house (sorry no pics, got too dark for phone).
Just went for a short spin back and forth..and I have to say WOW!!!
I know the phazer is not a fast sled, and that it's only a 500...but this thing shoots out of the hole...I know for a fact it would beat my crossfire 600, or my 600 HO rev to 60 mph..pulls real hard down low. Very impressive...can't wait to try it on the trails (hopefully they will be open on the 20th..if not..I may be heading to the U.P.).
Even my buddy (a staunch Polaris guy)..was impressed with the pull of this phazer.
I realize the first time you get on a sled for the year...they feel FAST...but this thing is impressive...wasn't expecting it to pull this GOOD.
I won't know if the suspension tips I tried are good or not, until we get enough snow to get some bumps. But I really like the light weight feel of this sled...and the SOUND...very wicked...ya gotta love the sound of yamaha four strokes..I have ridden with yamaha 4 strokes before..but it's not the same until you drive one...very cool.
Just a short run today...but now I can't wait to ride her again...probably gonna drive me nutz thinking about it all week
Anyways...for those of you like me..first time phazer buyers...I think you are gonna be impressed when you pull the trigger on it...don't listen to the knuckleheads who tell you the phazer doesn't have enough power...they don't know what they are talking about...I'm 220 lbs...and this little beast almost thru me off the back..wheeling hard when she hooked up..lol..It may not be a 100 mph lake racer..but who cares..I didn't buy it to drink beer and run the lakes..I want to have fun, and I think it will be... from 0-40 it's a riot!!!
Hopefullly we'll get more snow soon so I can get some more saddle time..I'm addicted to four stroke power now

Ya, the exhaust is great, first thing i fell in love with, and it does feel light, although i really think for an average trail rider, the weight thing is really over-rated.

Ha!You are hooked now! They have their shortcomings but is no doubt funnest sled I have ever ridden. Now you agree.Good.

Definately hooked...lol All sleds have their short comings...I am sure the phazer will have something I won't like about it...but so far so good...it's far better than I thought it would be...I guess I have read too many negative reports online, and in magazines...so far they are wrong...this is one fun little sled....This sled is definately not for a "high mileage trail rider"...I guess I still don't understand why people buy sleds that don't match the way they ride...for what I do (ditches, tight wooded trails and forest service roads), I am sure the phazer will be fine. I don't care about running lakes at 105 mph anymore. I can see where this sled is going to be fun ( i have a certain snow covered ditch pictured in my mind right now)...and can't wait

That is because like my friends they are use to 800's and 100's, then a few who ride 600's glorified trail sleds.
I prefer nothing more then a 600s' and a sled that I can beat the S*** out of. Then when people think or racing here they only think of drag racing and I don't like the do that much.
6If you look at engine sizes for racing.
600 XC
600 max on SnoX
600 max for hillcross
800 mountain-cross
any size (mostly 800-100) drag racing
I like corning and jumping my thing, that why I like driving import cars. My Toyota maybe small but it gets up goes, stops fast, and corners excellent.
It not about the power is all about how much fun you have.
